MCP at the Table! Build Your Local Server to Tame the Fridge Chaos

Workshop Day 1 - 21 May 2026 · 16:15-17:45

Abstract

There’s something weird in your fridge today… food you can’t recognize, ingredients that look like they’ve been living there since July.

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to tame that chaos with your very own local MCP server:
• Resources: see what’s actually available so you can finally answer “what’s in this fridge?” without fear.
• Tools: manage your inventory, add or consume ingredients, and stop the mold from growing… well, mostly.
• Prompts: suggest targeted prompts such as “What vegetarian dish can I make in under 30 minutes?” or “What is urgent to cook before life appears? ”.

By the end of the session, you’ll walk away with a fully working MCP instance ready to help you manage meals, inventory, and maybe even your roommate’s mysterious leftovers — no carbon dating required. It’s your fridge, your rules.

Whether you're just curious about how works the Model Context Protocol or want to start creating your own, you're welcome.
